Meet the Winemaker

Cory Bomgaars Cory Bomgaars started his career at Les Bourgeois in 1991 as a salesperson at the A-frame and occasionally assisted in the vineyards and winery. A student of biology and chemistry at the University of Missouri, Cory soon migrated to the wine lab, where he helped the Bourgeois family with wine analysis. By 1993, Les Bourgeois was experiencing considerable growth, which called for a fulltime winemaker. Bomgaars quickly volunteered and was sent to the University of California, Davis to hone his skills in viticulture and fermentation. During his year at UCD, Cory worked at various wineries in Napa and Sonoma, and participated in research to analyze the influences of oak barrels from different cooperages and regions of the world. With over a decade at Les Bourgeois, Cory has been instrumental in the company's tremendous growth and success.
