We have reopened with limited, outdoor service. Please review our updated policies in place to follow the local health guidelines before you plan your next trip to see us on the blufftop. We are still offering curbside pickup, local delivery, and free shipping for orders of $50 or more from our online store.
As the COVID-19 Crisis continues and escalates, we are all faced with difficult decisions and new challenges. Columbia and Boone County are under a Stay-At-Home Order until at least April 24 with many reports expecting the situation to last beyond that time. The Bistro and A-Frame are not set up for take-out or delivery and more importantly are not conducive to allowing employees to work well at a safe distance from each other. With the exception of curbside orders at the Tasting Room, all of the public-facing, service oriented portions of Les Bourgeois Vineyards will remain closed until federal and local health authorities deem it safe for us to reopen.
Unfortunately, with no revenue coming into those aspects of our business, we have made the very difficult decision to temporarily layoff many of our hourly service staff. This was a tough choice, but with the uncertainty of the duration of this crisis, it is our priority to ensure that there is a Les Bourgeois Vineyards for them to return to when this is over. In the meantime, we are so proud of the team of people here at LBV, more a family than anything. Our salaried staff voluntarily contributed a portion of their pay which was matched and doubled by our ownership to provide our most-affected hourly staff with much needed income as they work through this transition. Our LBV family also worked together to gather all of the food that was left from the Bistro and A-Frame and divided it into boxes for staff to pick up curbside. Twenty-seven boxes were distributed. We are all in this together, and we are so grateful for our LBV family and our community.
The vines are starting to wake up and we expect bud-break any day. Our vineyard crew is small and has shifted the way they work to limit contact and increase social distance, but they are hard at work ensuring the next great vintage of your favorite LBV wines is possible. There is no pause button on winemaking, so our Cellar team is also limited and adjusting their workflows to keep up with production needs.
A project that has been in the works for many months is a brand new line of canned products. We now have Riverboat Red and White in 4-pack cans and two brand new Captain’s Coolers: Bonfire Berry & Citrus Cruise. Due to the current circumstances, they will be delayed hitting grocery and liquor store shelves, but you can now get them in 6-packs via curbside pickup from the Tasting Room. They will be available for sale through our online store soon as well. Bring a taste of the blufftop home – from our backyard to yours!
If you would like to support Les Bourgeois Vineyards during this time, here are some ways to pitch in:
Boone County released a Stay-At-Home Order that is effective March 25 – April 24, 2020. This is a challenging time for everyone. We are immensely grateful to all those working hard in essential businesses despite the risks: healthcare workers, grocery store attendants, garbage collectors, and the list goes on. We also want to say thank you to everyone who is practicing social distancing and following CDC recommendations to keep our communities safer during this crisis. As the situation unfolds, we will be doing everything we can to continue supporting our staff and ensuring the legacy of Les Bourgeois Vineyard continues.
At this time, we are continuing to fulfill online orders and offer curbside pickup orders at the Tasting Room, but the hours for curbside pickups will be from 2-6pm Monday through Saturday and closed Sundays for the time being. Curbside orders for wine, beer & spirits can be made by calling 573-698-2716 during operating hours. You can also place an online order for pick up (wine & merchandise only) anytime, just list in the notes when you’d like to pick it up, and use the coupon code PICKUPPLEASE to forego shipping fees.
The vines haven’t stopped growing and winemaking doesn’t have a pause button. So, we are still working in the vineyards and cellar to produce the award-winning, local wines you love while following the recommendations of the CDC and local health organizations. We can all get through this together and we promise to do everything in our power to have delicious wines ready for you on the blufftop when it’s over. In the meantime if you’d like to help us in that goal you can support us in several ways:
UPDATE POSTED 3.17.20
Les Bourgeois Vineyards is and has always been a family run business, that family includes our amazing staff whom we care for dearly and our loyal customers who make it all possible. It is with all of this amazing LBV family in mind that we make the truly difficult decision to shutdown the majority of our in-person operations for at least the next 15 days.
The Coronavirus crisis poses a real and serious threat and we feel it is our responsibility to do everything we can to help curb the severity of this problem. Our Bistro and A-Frame will close, effective immediately, until at least April 1. We will reevaluate as things progress and will post updates as we have additional information.
To serve the community and our staff the best we can, the Tasting Room will remain open for curbside orders and we will continue to fulfill online orders. We will maintain our regular hours of 10am to 6pm Sunday through Thursday and 10am to 8pm. For more information on curbside orders, click here.
Private events scheduled during this time will be postponed and handled on a case by case basis with all efforts to provide the best experience possible within the confines of federal and local health organization recommendations. There will be much to celebrate when this is behind us and we will be there every step of the way.
LBV employs more than 90 people, many of whom are hourly. We are exhausting every possible resource at our disposal to ensure our staff have what they need during this time. If you are able would like to help us in this effort, there are several ways you can help support LBV and other local makers and businesses.
Stay well, stay patient, and take care of one another. We will see you on the blufftop again soon for more memories and celebrations.
Thank you for your support. We will all get through this together!
