On behalf of Les Bourgeois Vineyards, Jacob and Rachel Holman are excited to announce their ownership with an outside investor.
This transition of ownership will follow what has been a five year evolution of leadership at Les Bourgeois Vineyards. After 32 years in the industry, Curtis M. Bourgeois is ready to retire and pass the torch to the two most passionate employees at the helm of the organization, President and Head Winemaker, Jacob Holman, and CEO, Rachel Holman. With a combined 32 years of experience in the industry, Jacob and Rachel Holman are keen to start the next chapter for LBV and carry on the tradition and culture they have been elemental in creating. This next generation brings with it the experienced team that Jacob and Rachel have built and maintained throughout their tenure with the organization.
This new venture joins two highly compatible organizations. The teams have worked together in the recent past and share similar values and philosophies. The partnership will strengthen LBV and solidify their position as a leader not only in the Missouri Wine & Grape industry, but the Midwest overall. Changeover of ownership will create opportunities for product development and growth in agriculture, production, and retail ventures.
Official ownership transition took place on Tuesday, April 2, 2019. Jacob, Rachel and the LBV team are working diligently to ensure a smooth transition and ensure all customers and clients continue to receive excellent service. LBV will continue to provide their current selection of products and services and looks forward to not only improving on their current portfolio, but increasing their offerings and capabilities.
Jacob Holman began his winemaking career at Les Bourgeois Vineyards in 1999. What started as a fun and interesting job evolved into a notable career. Jacob has risen in the ranks at LBV and served as the Head Winemaker since 2006. He has been responsible for leading the production team in the creation of numerous award-winning wines ranging from bold red wines like Norton to delicate wines such as LBV Brut, which due to its popularity, sells out almost as fast as he and his team can make it. His expertise and passion has been a driving force behind the forward movement in the Midwest wine industry. Holman helped establish the Missouri Wine Technical Group, a non-profit organization strives to increase the quality of the many Missouri wine varietals produced by both large and small wineries across the state of Missouri. He also serves as a consultant across the Midwest to help fellow winemakers craft quality, award-worthy wines.
Rachel Holman graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2005 with a degree in finance and marketing. She soon established herself in a professional role at Les Bourgeois Vineyards and has worked her way up from planning special events to serving as marketing director for 7 years. In 2013 Holman was named CEO of LBV and took on the additional role of overseeing strategic planning, financial management, retail operations, production, and human resources in addition to wholesale and marketing. She has been awarded many accolades recognizing her professional and personal successes such as 20 Under 40 and Women of Excellence Awards. Rachel has also served as member of the Missouri Wine & Grape Board Marketing Committee since 2009 and remains active in several local non- profit organizations through her position at Les Bourgeois while pursuing her passion for food, wine, and hospitality.
Renowned for its spectacular blufftop view of the Missouri River Valley, Les Bourgeois Vineyards is one of Mid-Missouri’s premiere cultural and recreational attractions. A family owned and operated vineyard, LBV offers a unique combination of rural quaintness and accessibility. Just one mile north of I-70, midway between Kansas City and St. Louis, it is a popular destination for visitors statewide. LBV produces a wide variety of award-winning wines in styles to please any palate. LBV wines are available on-site as well as in many area retailers.
